About the job

Are you ready to embark on an extraordinary journey as a software engineer? At Sofico, you’ll work on our in-house created package ‘Miles’. It is an ERP software for automotive finance, leasing, fleet, and mobility management. This end-to-end solution encompasses front-, mid-and back-office functions that can be extensively customized to the customers’ needs through configuration and custom development.

You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team containing other developers, business consultants, testers, covering our end-to-end business flow. This means you can rely on a very broad base of knowledge and expertise.

Every team in Sofico works in an agile way, including scrum, daily stand-ups, and backlog refinement. Besides that, you’ll also be joining our Java community, which connects all the Software Engineers within Sofico worldwide. To learn from each other, by sharing best practices, codes, tips and tricks, is what we are striving for.

As a Junior Software Engineer, you'll dive into our complex software, resolve bugs and implement new features.You will start out getting to know out Miles Microservices Platform, and work your way up to working on our Core architecture as well.

Discussing solutions and participate in peer reviews
Contributing to team planning and sprint preparation
Conferring with business consultants and testers about business needs, bugs, and so on
You'll work up to playing an important role in building and rolling out solutions, both within the company and to our customers

Your Skills and Interests

Most important is the passion for developing and building solutions. It is also key to be able to keep the bigger picture in mind. Problem-solving and being proactivte are some of your strongest abilities. If you are a team player as well, you’re the perfect blend of soft skills.

We'd love to see the following aspects as well:
Programming background, either from your studies or practical experience
Initial experience with Java, APIs (Rest, Postman) and SQL
A Code Versioning System, such as Git, shouldn't be unknown territory
Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and agile working is a bonus
You have excellent English and initial German language skills
