As a Backend Software Developer (Typescript/Node.js), you will work on dynamic pricing systems that are key in pricing tickets for our customers. You will create and support complex pricing tools with micro frontends and backends in SCS environments that not only ensure maximum revenue, but also provide affordable ticket prices for customers.

Every time a traveler searches, books or cancels for a trip with FlixBus, a pricing request is sent to our services that calculate correct price based on numerous business inputs and manage capacity in real time.

This is an opportunity for you to work with a truly autonomous and mature team comprised of very experienced and technically diverse people.

Our major technologies range from Scala, Nodejs, Typescript, ReactJs to even some PHP (soon be gone though!). We are owners of our own destiny and love conducting experiments to improve the way we work, the recent being dropping estimates on our stories.

We got serious humor and tons of board games (even remotely), an undying love for cats and interesting challenges to solve. :)

Your Tasks – Paint the world green

• Maintain and extend various products and services used in our Revenue Management domain
• Work with the UI/UX developers to create domain-driven backend services using NestJS with Typescript
• Writing tests (Unit, Functional, Acceptance, etc.)
• Engaging in pair and mob programming as well as in code reviews to distribute knowledge
• Facilitate important technical decisions and communicate them to the team and stakeholders alike

Your Profile – Ready to hop on board

• You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably in larger organisational contexts
• You have 3+ years overall professional Node.js development experience
• You possess advanced knowledge of NestJS/Express (TypeScript)
• Experience with building applications applying Domain-Driven Design principles and modern architectures like Hexagonal and/or Ports & Adapters
• Experience with Frontend development (React/ TypeScript) is a big plus
• Experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL and DynamoDB is a plus
• Experience with AWS (or any other Cloud Platform) is a plus
• DevOps experience with Docker, Terraform, CI/CD and Kubernetes are very beneficial in this role
