What you will do:



As part of our Data & AI team, youll work hand-in-hand with business leaders to turn real-world challenges into powerful AI solutions. Partnering with stakeholders and consultants from DHL Consulting, you will uncover opportunities, define requirements, and translate business needs into data-driven strategies.

In this role you will


  • Wrap foundation models and classical ML into APIs, workers, and eventdriven services, designing clear interfaces with guards and fallbacks.
  • Build the data and retrieval layer by creating loaders and embeddings, implementing vector and relational retrieval with caching and grounding strategies, and running evaluations to reduce hallucination and improve results.
  • Containerize, test, and ship with CI, deploy to Kubernetes, instrument telemetry across traces, metrics, and logs, and define SLOs for latency, availability, and cost.
  • Implement offline and online evaluations, redteaming, and guardrails for safety, privacy, and compliance.
  • Build lightweight demos and developerexperience assets such as simple UIs or notebooks, READMEs, playbooks, and reusable templates and components.
  • Work closely with Data Engineers, Platform Engineers, and Product Managers, with mentorship from a senior AI/ML engineer.




What you bring:




  • University degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline) or equivalent experience.
  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience in data science, machine learning, or AI engineering, ideally contributing to or leading end-to-end projects from concept to deployment.
  • Strong programming skills in Python (preferred) and solid experience with SQL. Familiar with software development best practices (version control, testing, code reviews, CI/CD).
  • Proven experience in building backend services, data pipelines, or integrating ML/LLM components into production environments.
  • Working knowledge of retrieval and RAG systems, agent orchestration, and solid understanding of the AI/LLM ecosystem and related frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals and experience developing and deploying models that deliver real business value.
  • Hands-on experience with modern ML/AI frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, scikit-learn) and good grasp of MLOps workflows for scalable model deployment.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, or GCP) and distributed data environments.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Ability to clearly explain technical trade-offs and decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Energetic, success-oriented problem solver with a collaborative and proactive mindset.
  • Independent work ethic, integrity, and a positive can-do attitude with strong ownership of results.
  • Genuine curiosity and drive to understand business needs, translating them into technical challenges and innovative AI solutions.
